OXY - KEL 20% L.A 100ML

FORMULA Oxytetracycline hydrochloride eq. 200 mg Oxytetracycline. - Excipients up to 1 ml. ACTIONO xytetracycline is a broad spectrum antibiotic ac against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative organisms, and also against rickettsiae, mycoplasmas, chlamidiae and some protozoa. Thanks to its particular composition, Oxykel 20 L.A. provides therapeutically active blood levels for 3 to 4 days when given at the recommended dose.

INDICATIONS Oxykel 20 L.A. is indicated for infections caused by oxytetracyline sensitive germs, such as: Cattle, camels: respiratory tract infections, treatment of foot rot and otitis-media. Sheep, goats: respiratory tract infections, enzootic abortion (chlamidiosis).

DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION By deep 1.M. injection: 1 ml/10 kg b.w. If necessary, repeat with 3-days interval. By slow I.V. injection, when high initial blood levels desired.

WITHDRAWAL PERIOD Meat: 28 days - Milk: 7 days. Shelf life: 2 years. Hazardous livestock remedy. Not for human use. Keep out of the reach of children. Store below 25°C, protected from light. CONTRA-INDICATIONS-Do not use in animals known to be hypersensitive to tetra cyclines.- Do not use in Kidney and/or liver inefficiencies. Dosage should not be exceeded in pregnant animals. - Contraindicated in animals suffering from renal or hepatic damage. Rapid I.V. injection of tetracyclines has induced transient collapse and cardiac arrhythmia in several species, presumably due to chelation with intravascular calcium ions. If the drug must be given rapidly I.V. (less than 5 minutes), some clinicians recommend pre-treating the animal with I.V. calcium- gluconate. Not recommended in horses, dogs and cats. -Do not mix with other solution as precipitation may occur.Do not mix with infusions containing calcium salts (chloride/gluconate).
